ESMAC Young Investigator Session

Thursday 14 October at 18:30

Are you an early career researcher, aiming to consolidate a career in the field of motion analysis? Are you interested in crafting your career path?

Are you already more senior, but interested to contribute with ‘open mind’ to  this discussion?

In this session, we would like to share insights in career crafting that are not typically discussed as part of a scientific conference but which we feel are highly relevant for the ESMAC community of young researchers.

In this session we invite peers and seniors in the field of motion analysis and with visibility within ESMAC, to take the lead in discussing one of the themes:

  1. Combining a clinical and academia career or choosing between the one or the other?  Josefine Naili (joined in break-out by Stéphan Armand)
  2. How to build the career path to transition from postdoc to an independent researcher? Hans Kainz ((joined in break-out by Lynn Bar-On)
  3. How to become an effective group leader? Marjolein van der Krogt (joined in break-out by Ayman Assi)
  4. How to balance life/work? Ilse Jonkers (joined in break-out by Anders Holsgard)

In the initial plenary sessions (60 mins), they will provide their personal reflections, also based on their experience and personal career paths.  During the parallel break-out sessions (20 mins) they will be available for sharing reflections and discuss more in depth with the participants.

This 1h30 mins session is organized at the end of the scientific program on October 14th – following the AGM.

Pre-registration is encouraged. Upon registration, you will be asked to already indicate the parallel session you most likely will attend and provide some details on your current career stage. Please use the following link.
